Opinion:
Intel stock traded lower after the company reported earnings last week. The company had a slight beat on earnings in revenue and EPS. They also were able to beat the guidance they had given at the beginning of this year. Net income was a category that opened a lot of eyes, with it being down 35%. EPS was also down 35% on a year-over-year basis. Intel is a company that should be hot right now because of the current chip shortage the world is currently going through. The company expects a better half of the year in the next few quarters and wants to see it grow. Investors took this the wrong way and the sentiment seems to be doubting this company currently. Intel just opened up a huge production plant in Ohio that has received praise from our President. We have a goal to start producing things within the borders and not have the rely on other countries for products. We can see the effects of a war on us with reliant on countries at war to provide us goods. Intel can become extremely innovative in the sense that the pull it together and start to get back on track. I am a current shareholder of the company and have been for a while. I really like the business model the possess and I look for them to keep growing. The company has a solid ground in the industry and is a worldwide commodity. I have a lot of faith in the future of this company and will look to collect and reinvest dividends along the way.
