Opinion:
Advanced Micro Devices is currently taking off after reporting earnings after the market closed today. The company posted some solid numbers and had solid beats on expectations on EPS and revenues. Advanced Micro Devices was able to grow revenue by 71% and their net income by 42%. The company is a hot commodity with semiconductors being on a shortage. You can tell they have really stepped up their game with revenues and profits growing like crazy. Although it was shown that the PC has slowed down, but this was overlooked by investors as they are impressed with the earnings numbers. The CEO says that they have reached a significant inflection point, and it is definitely apparent. The increase in the stock was due to the huge chip sales the company had. Personally, I have never really looked deeply into this company. It always pops up on the most active stocks because the volume traded is always so high everyday. It is definitely interesting to really take a look at now because it seems to be a solid company. I don't know if it is just the luck of draw that the company reported solid earnings when I first looked at it, but from a first time looking at it stand point, I'd throw some money in here. Advanced Micro Devices will continue to thrive as long as the semiconductor shortage remains. Which it seems won't end anytime soon, so I think for the short-term this could have some solid upside to it.
