Market Debrief (Monday April 4, 2022)

 Happy Monday Stock Talkers!

Stocks kicked off the week on a high note, with Nasdaq leading the way with gains of 1.90%. Investors are on the lookout for more sanctions to be pressed against Russia, but that wasn't the main story of the day. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced this morning that he now has a 9.2% stake in Twitter. Twitter traded higher today, rising a tad bit over 27% during todays trading session. This was the cause of the Technology to go higher and caused some investors to speculate what he might do with his stake. Globally, investors have their eye on the European Union as they advance with measures to be put in place against Russia. Over the weekend, travelers saw mass cancellations with certain airlines, causing a huge controversy in the travel industry. Some of the cancellations were blamed on the weather, while the other cancellations seemed too arise from "technological problems". I firmly believe this could have been a potential cyber attack from Russia, with sanctions already pressing against Russia from the United States, it only seems right. Russia seems to be a leader in cyberattacks and it seems as if they want to retaliate against US companies for imposing sanctions on them.
