Market Debrief (Monday April 11, 2022)

 Happy Monday Stock Talkers!

Stocks fell by a large margin to start out the week as we dive into the start of the corporate earnings season. Investors are still awaiting more economic data to come out from the Federal Reserve, as they plan to accelerate their curbing of inflation. The Consumer Price Index is coming out tomorrow, and it is expected to come out at 8.4% (YOY) growth, which is the largest growth we have seen since 1982. On the note of tech stocks, investors are worried about these small companies getting hit hard by the hiking of the interest rates. I think tech stocks are beside the point, and a lot of people are overlooking some very valuable companies. If you are heavy into tech stocks and understand some of these businesses, then I think you can acquire some of these companies for a pretty solid price. We will get a good preview of how these big corporations were able to handle all the inflation and supply-chain issues with fresh quarterly reports coming out from them starting this week. The economy is something to keep a close eye out for right now as an investor. With market conditions the way they are and the uncertainty levels so high, your best bet is to just hold your stocks and do some solid research to find a lot of these quality companies on major discount.
